Scott Gorgon

Scott M. Gorgon is a 41-year veteran of the fire service, presently serving the East Fork Fire Protection District as an independent contractor. Scott serves the organization in the areas of Operations with an emphasis in Mentoring, Fire Officer Development, Labor Relations, and other daily duties.

Scott has been a private sector consultant in the Nevada Fire Service and Labor community for the last three years. Prior to that, he served the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPM) as the Deputy Chief of Operations from 2018 to 2019.

Scott served the citizens of the City of North Las Vegas for 25 years ending his service as an Operations Shift Battalion Chief.  He held various positions during his 25 years of service with the organization including being a licensed Paramedic, Firefighter, Engineer, Training Captain, and Training Chief.  While working in Southern Nevada, Scott was also a faculty member for the College of Southern Nevada where he taught in the Fire Science Department.

Prior to joining the North Las Vegas Fire Department, Scott worked for the Carson City Fire Department and the Bureau of Land management..

Scott served both the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 1607 and the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada as Secretary/Treasurer where he represented over three thousand men and women. 

Scott holds an Associate of Science Degree in Fire Science Technology from Truckee Meadows Community College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Administration from Cogswell Polytechnical College, and a Master’s of Science Degree in Executive Fire Leadership from Grand Canyon University.  He is also a graduate of the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program, which is the equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Fire and EMS Administration.
