The district maintains an aggressive apparatus acquisition program that provides some of the best emergency services
apparatus to its staff and volunteers, as well as providing the most current NFPA compliant personal protective gear.

The Fire Board

The Douglas County Board of County Commissioners serves as the governing body for the East Fork Fire and Paramedic Districts. The Fire Chief reports directly to the Commission with the Douglas County Manager serving as a liaison to the Board.

Map of Our Districts

East Fork is one of two fire protection districts within Douglas County. The Tahoe/Douglas Fire Protection District provides service in and around the south shore of Lake Tahoe while the balance of Douglas County, about 700 square miles, receives services from the East Fork Fire and Paramedic Districts.
